The Prichard Police Department released new developments on a fatal car accident that claimed the lives of a 17-year-old and his 12-year-old sister.

Ty'vone Millender, 17, and Timberley Jones, 12, were pronounced dead near the intersection of Telegraph and Bay Bridge roads in Prichard Sunday, June 16.

According to a Prichard Police Department press release Melvina English, the children's mother, was driving a Nissan Maxima with Jones in the front seat and Millender in the back. Authorities said English was headed east on Bay Bridge Road when she attempted to turn left.

Police said Javorise Tunstall was driving west on Bay Bridge Road in an Acura with his girlfriend, Shaterrica Shavers, and their 6-month-old baby.

Police said it appears English failed to yield the right of way and the accident.

Rest In Peace.

The family of Ty'vone Millender, 17, and Timberley Jones 12, said their loved ones had a bright future, and the family is devastated their lives ended so soon.

"Honest, loveable. Her birthday was last Friday. She had just turned 12-years-old. And Tyvone, his birthday would have been Saturday, and he was turning 18-years-old,” said family members.

Two teddy bears mark near Telegraph and Bay Bridge roads where Jones and Millender lost their lives. Prichard officials have not released the details of the fatal car crash only confirming the crash involved two cars and the victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

The family said their mother Melvinia English is recovering and grieving at the same time.

"She's having a hard time dealing with it because she feels, you know, her heart is just hurting because both of her kids are gone. You don't know how it feels to lose just one, but then you lose two at the same time. And it's just a horrible experience,” said the victims’ aunt, Lyteria Woods.

As the family mourns the loss of their children, they have a message for others.

“Not to take life for granted. Don't hold any malice or any hate in your heart because you never know when it will be the last time you see your loved one,” said Wood.
