Our media team, identified two young men found fatally shot on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive early Monday morning.
Officers found Marqez Lafarion Thomas, 20, and Laguy Antonio Allen, 21, suffering fatal gunshot wounds in the predawn hours Monday, said Philip Stiell, chief of staff for Prichard Mayor Troy Ephriam.
City records indicate Allen had celebrated his 21st birthday only two days before his death.
Prichard police say two men were shot outside a gas station just off of Martin Luther King Junior Drive and the suspect or suspects are still at large.
At the crime scene Monday afternoon, all that was left was small strip of yellow tape and a bullet hole in the gas station window. But one neighbor, who wants to remain anonymous says the fear of more violence also lingers.
A manager says several people were hanging out in the parking lot. Eventually they heard fighting and gunshots. Before collapsing, we've learned that one of the victims rushed to the front store door and asked clerk to call police..

"I just heard eight shots. It was like loud fireworks because it was so many," witness said. "I have four kids so it was too close to home."
It's an intersection where locals say crime happens often.
"No it doesn't surprise me. I would be home that time of night but we really need to stop this killing," said Roderick Taylor who visits family in the area daily. He says he wants to see more police presence and an end to violent crime.
We learned out of all the surveillance cameras around the store, only one works. He said the investigation prohibited him from showing the video, but it captured a vehicle leaving the scene.
We're told that video is with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency which has stepped in to help investigate.
This is the third double homicide of the year in Prichard, and at least the fourth homicide investigation since January.
