A BEST-FRIEND THAT KILLS?

Updated: March 04, 2013 AT 5:00PM- Donald Lockett was arrested after he came back to the apartment complex on the 100 block of Espejo Street where 22-year-old Gregory Davis Jr. was shot.

According to Donald Lockett, Gregory Davis pushed his grandmother and threatened them both. Lockett got his gun and shot Davis.

The two have been friends for years, but Lockett said that keeping him and his grandmother's well-being was of utmost importance.

Which doesn't make since, you can tell that Greg would never do such thing. From these two photos:

The victim loved his grandmother. So why would Gregory attack Donald's grandmother? What Donald is saying isn't adding up.. 

"That was the whole purpose, I wasn't trying to kill my own homes," Lockett said. "I've been knowing him since I was 8 years old."

A witness tell us that, Lockett and Davis were arguing just before the shooting. When words escalated into a fight, Lockett pulled out a gun and shot Davis.

Updated: March 03, 2013 at 11:00PM- While police officers led Donald from Mobile Police Headquarters to an awaiting car en route to Mobile County Metro Jail today, Lockett admitted he shot Davis.

Donald Lockett said he shot Gregory because he was in danger:

"That was the whole purpose, I wasn't trying to kill my own homes," "I've been knowing him since I was 8 years old."

Updated: March 03, 2013 at 6:55PM- Donald Lockett claimed that he shot Gregory Davis Jr, in self-defense. But who would shoot their best friend? So we're thinking that.. Donald had built up tension against Greg..


Updated: March 03, 2013 at 6:00- Police responded to a call on Espejo Street for a report of one male who had been shot. His name was Gregory Davis Jr. and he was 22 years old.

The Victim:

We contacted the Mobile Police Department and they reported to us that:

Donald Lockett, was physically and verbally abusing his grandmother. The victim Gregory was not pleased with the behavior he was seeing. So he confronted Donald. The suspect punched Gregory, then the two begin to fight. Which led to gunfire. 

                                

A close source told us: that Donald Lockett always had a feeling of discontent and resentment around Gregory and desired for the possessions or qualities he had.

Slanderchick, believe that Donald "Red" Lockett was "under the influence" of a strong drug.

Mobile Fire Rescue responded and transported Davis to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

We contacted the hospital to get more information; but the details they provided are to graphic and we cannot release them.

Mobile PD were able to detain 22 year-old Donald Lockett on the scene, and after investigating the incident, detectives have determined that Lockett is responsible for the death of Gregory Davis and have charged him with Murder.

As you can see the victim and the suspect we're close friends.
